In Gaza, a horrifying deadline is approaching. Experts and aid organizations warn that Gazans now have just one to two weeks before famine claims lives en masse. This is not speculation. This is not political theater. This is genocide by starvation, happening in real-time, while the world — governments, institutions, and the so-called international community — does next to nothing.
More than 58,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s assault began on October 7, 2023, but those numbers tell only part of the story. What is unfolding now is an engineered humanitarian collapse, and if nothing changes, we will begin to see thousands drop dead in the streets from starvation and dehydration. Not from airstrikes. Not from bullets. But from hunger — in 2025, with satellites overhead, warehouses full of aid just across closed borders, and the full awareness of the United Nations, the United States, Canada, the EU, and many Arab states.
This is deliberate. This is systemic. And this will stain the conscience of our species forever.
Flour Massacres: Death in Exchange for Bread
In late February 2024, the world watched in horror as Israeli forces opened fire on thousands of starving Palestinians trying to collect flour aid near Al-Rashid Street in Gaza City. Over 110 people were killed. They died with bags of flour strapped to their backs, some suffocating in the stampede that followed the gunfire. This was not a “riot” or a “clash” — it was a massacre. Medical staff later confirmed many had been shot in the back. Children. Parents. Grandparents. Trying to survive.
This was not the only incident. In the months following:
▪︎March 3 & 14, 2024: Aid seekers were gunned down again at Kuwait Roundabout and Deir al-Balah. Dozens died.
▪︎June 17, 2025: Israeli forces opened fire on crowds waiting for flour in Khan Younis, killing 59 people.
▪︎July 19, 2025: At least 32 more Palestinians were murdered while trying to receive aid at sites managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
These are not accidents. This is a campaign of starvation and terror, designed to turn food into a weapon and survival into a death sentence. This is the calculated extermination of a people.
Water Is Scarce. Medicine Is Gone. Hope Is Dying.
Over 90% of Gaza’s homes have been destroyed. The entire water system is in collapse — most people receive less than 3 liters of water per day, far below the UN’s minimum threshold for survival. Hospitals have been bombed, doctors murdered, and even field clinics struck. Medical supplies are cut off at the borders. The Rafah crossing has been closed for months, sealing Gaza from the outside world — and trapping 2.2 million people inside what has become a prison of suffering.
The UN has warned repeatedly: this is a famine, not a food shortage. Children are eating grass and animal feed, scavenging for crumbs under bombed-out buildings. Soup kitchens have shut down because they have no fuel or food. Aid convoys are blocked, bombed, or shot at.
This is not a natural disaster. This is man-made.
Experts, Journalists, and Doctors Killed for Telling the Truth
The targeting doesn’t stop at civilians. More than 200 journalists have been killed — the most in any war in modern history. That includes Hind Rajab, a five-year-old girl whose terrified final calls were broadcast across the globe before she and her rescuers were found slaughtered by Israeli fire. That includes photojournalist Ismail Abu Hatab, killed while documenting life in Gaza. That includes Hossam Shabat, 23, whose smile and courage live on only in the archives of Al Jazeera.
Doctors haven’t been spared either. Dr. Adnan al-Bursh, a renowned orthopedic surgeon, raped to death in Israeli custody. Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician, remains iimprisoned in critical condition due to Israeli torture, after being kidnapped from Kamal Adwan Hospital. These are war crimes, but there is no accountability.
Who’s Letting This Happen?
There is blood on many hands.
The Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, has turned Gaza into a graveyard. Their strategy is total annihilation — by bombs, bullets, and starvation.
The Biden administration and its allies in Canada, Germany, and the UK have sent billions in military aid and blocked ceasefire efforts. They are not passive observers — they are accomplices. The United Nations issues statements, but continues to cave to pressure and fails to enforce international law. How many children must die before Article II of the Genocide Convention is invoked? Arab states and regional powers like Egypt and Jordan have kept borders closed and turned away desperate civilians. The so-called defenders of Palestine have chosen silence and normalization.
Mainstream media continue to run headlines that mask the truth, bury massacres under euphemisms like “incident” or “unverified claims.”
What we are witnessing is a global collapse of moral leadership. These institutions were built after the Holocaust with the solemn promise: Never Again. But “Never Again” has become Never Again Unless It’s Palestinians.
A Black Mark on Humanity
This moment — right now — will be remembered. Generations from now, children will read about what was done to Gaza, and they will ask:
Where were you? What did you do? Did you speak up?
To allow a population of 2.2 million people to starve to death in full view of the world is a crime against humanity of the highest order. It is not only a political failure — it is a spiritual one. A soul-deep rot at the heart of our systems, our governments, and our global institutions.
This is not a war. This is extermination.
🆘 What Can You Do Right Now?
▪︎Flood your politicians’ inboxes. Demand an end to military aid. Demand border openings. Demand justice.
▪︎Share survivor testimonies. Break the silence. Document everything.
▪︎Boycott complicit companies funding or arming the occupation.
▪︎Donate to trusted grassroots aid groups, not UN agencies that are being actively dismantled.
▪︎Organize protests, hunger strikes, teach-ins. Refuse to look away.
We may not be able to stop every bomb — but we can refuse to be complicit. We can make sure history records where we stood.
❗Time Is Running Out
Every day we delay, more children starve. More parents bury their families. More doctors are killed for daring to heal. This is not about politics. This is about life or death — and the death is accelerating.
Gaza has one to two weeks before mass starvation begins to kill at a scale even greater than the bombs. The world has the power to stop this. The siege can be lifted today. Food and water can be delivered today. If it isn’t, it is because those in power choose not to.
And that choice will be remembered as one of the darkest, most shameful decisions humanity has ever made.
Free Gaza. Feed Gaza. Save Gaza.
Before it’s too late.
